Study on Relationships between Coal Microstructure and Coke Quality during Coking Process

Optimizing coal blending is important for high-quality development of coking industries, among which deep understanding relationships between characteristics and coke quality critical. This work selected four typical coals from Shanxi Province in China to investigate influences their structures properties on quality. Although these samples belong coals, the mechanical strength thermal corresponding cokes are quite different. Macerals especially vitrinite, have significant effect cokes. The B better than A, because A mainly contains desmocollinite has more telocollinite. CSR B, C D higher 60%, indicating they possess good property. In process, relatively low initial softening temperature (<400 °C), wide plastic range (>100 smooth fluidity region appropriate maximum helpful improve based Gieseler analysis. Coal lower condensation degree, shorter aliphatic chain, hydrogen bond, reveals that degree bond play roles formation mass strength.
